Abandoned or demolished objects in the city centre in each collage act as a representation of the perception of Sverdlovsk. The destiny of each of the modernist buildings in post-Soviet Yekaterinburg has been discussed more than once. When the artist began to make collages all the buildings were still intact, but now two of them have been destroyed for the sake of constructing something new. By force of habit, a newspaper is still perceived as an instrument of actualization of public opinion. The chronicle of current events is torn to pieces to create images of the current agenda, which nevertheless have no place in the actual life of the city. Instead of expressing opinions, the newspaper keeps the timeline of losses. The piece was created with the participation of students of the Russian State Vocational Pedagogical University.
